About Brett and Paul

Brett is a Landscape/Nature Photographer currently living in Loveland Colorado.

“I developed a love for photography years ago, while working for a company called The Grand Teton Lodge Company, in a place I had never heard of, Jackson Hole Wyoming. It is a place I will never forget, a place I return to year after year.
While I had taken photography courses in college, nothing can prepare you for your first encounter with the stunning Teton backcountry. It will always be the perfection of beauty to me. Above all, it is where I learned about photography. I purchased a used Canon FT with a light meter that always got stuck and a used 50 mm lens. I was on my way.”
“It has been my mission over the years to explore those difficult to find spots, those that can be accessed only from back country travel and pass them on to others. What you see in my photos is the vision of a photographer with Parkinson’s disease. I truly believe my photography has slowed the disease down, it exemplifies a passion for showing a different perspective on what I believe is important. This site was created to showcase the art of Landscape and Nature photography, to exhibit the beauty of locations such as the rugged beauty of the Western North Dakota badlands, the Teton Crest Trail, where every mile revives your senses, its glorious landscapes you never grow weary of. The thundering tone of waterfalls along the Mist Trail at Yosemite or the incredible 4 pass loop around Maroon Bells, where its flowery painted meadows give way to the high steep slopes and the exhilarating climb over each 12,000’ pass. For me, these are nature’s richest treasures.”
“I live with my wife of 40+ years, Shari. We both share a passion for the beautiful country that surrounds us. We have 3 grown children, Kyle, Megan, and Dan, as well as 5 grandchildren. They all reside in Colorado and all respect the God given beauty of the landscapes that surround them. Without their help, their sacrifices, and
their incredible support, my back country trips and all of these photos would not have been possible.”

Brett is a partner, and his work is featured at WhiskeyRoad Gallery in Hettinger, ND

Paul Hendrickson started his painting and photography career as far back as his youth in the 70’s. His high school masterpiece was awarded Runner Up at the Governor’s Student Art Show, which earned the piece, Old Mill, a trip to the US Capitol where it was displayed in the Capitol Rotunda.

“I was inspired watching Dad always sketch in the evenings after work. Soon his good friend Mr. Perry Nolan, an art teacher in the high school section, took me under his wing and taught me how to take pictures, frame the subject, and eventually how to express these pictures on a canvas with paint and brushes. I dedicate this gallery to him and the influence he had, not only on me, but many people he shared his love of teaching art to. He could get incredible work out of anybody he worked with. Although passed, I still feel Mr. Nolan’s presence as I am working in my studio. “A little more shadow here. Just a touch more light on that edge right there.” Then that big ‘satisfactory’ grin he always had. Later, after a long hiatus from the easel, I crossed paths while working in Denver, CO with an exceptional artist, Tanis Bula. She found out I painted, I guess I told her, and she showed up at my office with paper, brushes, paints, and told me to get busy! When covid settled in, we painted together at my clinic quite often. As Perry did, she taught me a lot about how to put a piece together and helped hone my watercolor skills. After 35 years of not picking up a brush, I was again off and painting.”

“I never put the camera down once Mr. Nolan had me pick that up and then my crossing paths with my dear friend Brett Patchin, my thirst to learn more, photograph more, and paint more continues to drive me. I do not believe things happen randomly. I give thanks to God and direction of the Holy Spirit for all these ‘coincidences’ in my life.”

Paul now lives back on the Eien Family Homestead that has been in his family since homesteaded by his great grandfather Erick in 1904. He and his wife Cathy live there now. Their two children Emma and Jacob live at the farm and stationed in Seoul South Korea in the US Army respectively.

Together, Brett and Paul have collaborated and created a collection of both paintings and photography that you are sure to admire and enjoy!
